Description:
''Whoever, in consequence of any person having done any act which he
was legally entitled to do or of his having omitted to do any act which he was
legally entitled to omit to do, or wi.h intent to cuise any person to do any act
which he is not legally bound to do or to omit to do any act which he is legally
entitled to do, or with intent to cause harm to such person in body, mind, reputation or property, or in his business or means of living, boycotts such person or any
person in whom such person is interested, shall be punished with imprisonment
which may extend to six months or with line or with both :
Provided that no offence shall be deemed to have been committed under
this section if the Court is satisfied that the accused person has not acted at the
instigation of or in collusion with any other person or in pursuance of any
conspiracy or of any agreement or combination to boycott...''

''Any person aggrieved by the refusal of the Council to approve any
institution or person for the purpose of the rules under this Act relating to
training may appeal against the refusal to the President of the Union, and the
President of the Union shall give such directions as he thinks proper, and the
Council shall comply with any directions so given.Except with the special sanction of the President of the Union,
no midwife or nurse shall be competent to hold any appointment in any
dispensary, hospital, asylum, infumary or lying-in hospital, which is supported
partially or entirely by public funds or contributions, or by the funds or
contributions of any public company, unless such midwife or nurse is
registered under this Act-
(2) Within the limits of any area to which the President of the Union
may, by notification, extend this sub-section and on the expiry of a period of
one year and six months from the date of such notification, no person who is
not a registered midwife shall practise as a midwife or practise midwifery :
Provided that this sub-section shall not apply to—...''

2. In this Act, the exprè6sion “ member of a police-force" means any person
appointed or enrolled for the performance of police duties under any emclment
in force in the Union of Burma *’***•
3 Whoever intentionally causes or attempts to cause, or does any act which
he knows is likely to cause, disaffection towards * * * *« the
Government established by law in the Union of Burma * * * **
amongst the members of a police-force*or induces or attempts to induce, or does
any act which he knows is likely to induce, any member of a police-force to
.withhold his services or to commit a brèaeh of discipline, shall be punished with
imprisonment which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to
two hundred rupees, or with both.

emigrant and any aged or incapacitated relative of an emigrant ;

"Ending on any date other than the said 1 *[30th day of
September], then at the option of the assessee the year
ending on the day which his accounts have so been made up:
- [Provided that where an assessee has been assessed in respect of a
particular source of income, profits and gains, he shall not
in respect of that source exercise this option so as to vary
the meaning of the expression “ previous year ” as then
applicable to him except with the consent of the Income-tax
Officer and upon such conditions as the Income-tax Officer
may think fit : or]
(6) in the case of any person, business or company, or class o[
person, business or company, such period as may be
determined by the Financial Commissioner or by such
authority as he may authorize in this behalf ; 3 [or
(c) where a business or profession has been newly set up in the
financial year preceding the year for which assessment is to be
made, the period from the date of the setting up of the business..."
