"Announcement for Illegal permits and projects (related to exploration, extraction and trading of minerals, gems, peart, timber and other resources) approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation under the control of the terrorist military council considered null and void by the National Unity Government 1. It is reportedly learnt that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation under the control of the terrorist State Administration Council (SAC) has been attempting to cam revenue for the SAC through exploring, extracting, and trading of minerals, gems, pearl, timber and other natural resources, and granting the exploration permits, gems/mineral mining permits, and granting new licenses and renewal of old licenses for sales of gems and jewelry has been earned out by this ministry of the SAC. Furthermore, it is also observed that this Ministry is making efforts to gather revenue for the SAC by collecting the different taxes related to gems, and minerals including land leases, exploration royalty, commercial tax, and special goods tax. auction selling of Myanma gems, jades, and pearls in the Emporium, exporting finished jade products through One Stop Service (OSS), tender selling of extracted logs, transport of logs, and trading and exporting the finished timber products. 2. The Ministry of the Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation under the National Unity Government has, by issuing the Announcement (1/2021), already requested all entrepreneurs and companies not to get involved in any acts including business activities conducted by the SAC, and has warned that the punishment shall be taken against those who are found to be in ties with the SAC. 3. The National Unity Government (NUG) has also declared, through the announcement (3/2021) issued by the Ministry of Planning. Finance and Investment of the NUG. that the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) of the SAC shall not be recognized as legal body, and all the investments and projects approved by the MIC be considered null and void. It has already announced that all sponsors of and those involved in such projects will be held criminally liable for any violations of the existing legal frameworks. 4. It is reportedly learnt that the Ministry under the control of the SAC is planning to issue new permits and licenses for artisanal extraction, small scale, and medium scale extraction for gems, jade and minerals as the current ones will soon be expired. Therefore, the Ministry of the NUG hereby urges all entrepreneurs and companies not to renew permits and licenses. 5. The Ministry also urges all entrepreneurs and companies who are conducting the extraction of minerals, gem, pearl, timber and other resources not to get involved directly or indirectly in any cooperation or ties with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation under the control of the SAC. 6. The Ministry of the NUG hereby warns that all entrepreneurs and companies who are in ties with the Ministry of the Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation under the control of the SAC will be blacklisted, and such information will be publicly disclosed, and if necessary, legal measures will be taken against them in accordance with the existing laws. The Ministry of the NUG also reiterates our warning that we, the MONRE-NUG, shall not recognize any permits and licenses for exploration, extracting, and trading of minerals, gem, pearl, timber and other natural resources, warning that all staff who lead and get involved in the process of granting permits and licenses will be recorded and plausible measures will be taken against them accordingly.
