Call for Concrete Actions from the International Community, the Free and Democratic World, on the Deepening Crisis in Myanmar

Description:

"We have heard the powerful message and heartbreaking updates from the UN Special Rapporteur and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. We urge you to take a few moments to listen to this crucial update and join us in taking decisive actions. Unless immediate actions are taken, the children of Myanmar are at risk of becoming a lost generation. Since the attempted bloody coup on February 1, 2021, the genocidal military junta has mercilessly taken the lives of over 800 innocent children, unjustly imprisoned more than 380 children as political prisoners, held 51 children hostage to pressure their parents, displaced over 660,000 children, left more than 5.8 million children in need of lifesaving aid, and deprived dozens of millions of children of their right to education. These unspeakable crises demand not mere resolutions, but concrete actions from the international community in the following areas: MONEY - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to take immediate action in cutting off the flow of international financing to the genocidal military junta, which fuels their fighter jets and arms their bomb factories. Please join the United States in sanctioning Myanmar's financial institutions, which serve as the main channels for cash flow to the junta's banks. Please join the European Union in sanctioning MOGE, one of the junta's primary sources of income, and join other nations in implementing an arms embargo and sanctioning all major financial contributors to the junta. WEAPONS - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to take immediate action in disrupting the flow of international arms into the hands of the genocidal military junta. The more weapons they possess, the more innocent lives are lost. It is vitally crucial to disable the genocidal military junta's weapon factories and dismantle their lethal bomb factories. LEGITIMACY - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to deny the military junta's illegitimate claim to power, as they are responsible for the murder of their own people. It is crucial to cut off all diplomatic engagements with the military junta's leadership. They, the murderers of Myanmar's people, should not represent the people of Myanmar at any level. These criminals must be held accountable for their crimes against humanity and serve their prison sentences. Furthermore, the people of Myanmar urgently require assistance in the following areas to restore democracy, peace, and stability not only in our nation but for the entire region: SANCTIONS - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to take immediate action by imposing coordinated, stronger, and targeted sanctions against the military junta. RECOGNITION - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to officially recognize the National Unity Government (NUG) as the sole legitimate democratic representative of Myanmar. SUPPORT - We once again call on the international community, the free and democratic world, to support the brave people of Myanmar in their courageous struggle against the genocidal military dictatorship. Stand with us in our pursuit of freedom and federal democratization, which is the only path to peace, prosperity, and stability not only for Myanmar but for the entire region. For the past 27 months, the people of Myanmar have endured crimes against humanity committed by the genocidal military junta. They face these atrocities not because of their actions, but because of their unwavering belief in freedom, federal democracy, and their refusal to accept injustice, tyranny, and brutal military dictatorship. Together, let us take a stand against these grave violations and work towards a future where the people of Myanmar can live in peace, dignity, and freedom. Our collective actions can make a difference and bring hope to the 54 million people of Myanmar who deserve a brighter and more just future..."
