"UNION Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye received a delegation led by Ambassador of Canada Mr Francois Lafreniere at his ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday. During the meeting, they discussed matters related to social protection and social services, implementation of natural disaster management and rehabilitation processes, cooperative efforts of international organizations including state/ region governments and red cross society to effectively provide humanitarian assistances in the conflict regions including Rakhine State, implementation of the advices on Rakhine State, and the conditions of closure of IDP camps and systematic resettlement of returnees in accordance with the national-level strategy after it had been confirmed. They also discussed women’s development and protecting of women from violence, implementation of children’s rights, and the condition of cooperation from the Canadian development agencies on drawing up the laws, by-laws, policies and strategies related to human rights of disabled persons and older persons..."
