"Report to the people on the progress of the Implementation committee on
recommendations on Rakhine State between September and December 2019...Rathaedaung, Mrauk U, Minbya,
Myaypon, Maungdaw, Buthidaung,
Kyauk Phyu, Ramree, Ann,
Thandwe, and Taungup
- Provision of books through mobile libraries;
- Provision of sports equipment and construction of
sports facilities; support for WASH facilities;
- Provision of support to help out-of- school children
to return to school;
- Implementation of activities in 163 basic education
schools to promote social cohesion among
communities;
Salaries are being paid to 497 volunteer teachers from IDP camps and in this
reporting period, 97 more teachers can be included. Therefore, salaries are paid to a
total of 594 teachers.
Both local and international staff members from Danish Refugee Council (DRC)
provided 24 types of training as well as humanitarian assistance in 5 project
townships, spending the funding USD 625,517 in total.
Under the scholarship program for the students in Rakhine, the Governments of
Norway and Denmark will contribute to 100 scholarships and Center for Diversity
and National Harmony (CDNH) will use their overhead costs to contribute to 6
scholarships, totaling 106 scholarships. They will provide USD 200 (MMK 300,000) for
each student who wins scholarship every month..."
