"THE opening ceremony of the Workshop on Enhancing Women’s Social Cohesion Roles in Rakhine State was held this morning at 9:30 am at the Yangon office of the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre (NRPC). The workshop was co-organized by the Ministry of the Office of the State Counsellor, the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre and the Center for Diversity and National Harmony (CDNH). Deputy Minister U Min Lwin of the Ministry of the Office of the State Counsellor gave the opening remarks. In his remarks, U Min Lwin stressed the government’s efforts in achieving its goals of promoting rule of law and socio-economic development; national reconciliation and peace; and constitutional reforms that will form the bedrock in building a Democratic Federal Union. He further noted that the Rakhine State affairs are being given priority when carrying out these aims and that the Central Committee for Implementation of Peace, Stability and Development in Rakhine State led by the State Counsellor with its four Working Committees have been formed to implement the short and long term plans relating to Rakhine State..."
