"UNION MINISTER for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye discussed implementation of the COVID-19 prevention plans at the camps for internally displaced persons and the conflict shelters in Rakhine State and other areas. The meeting on video con-ferencing yesterday was taken part by Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, Deputy Minister U Soe Aung and officials from local government and the ministry. Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye discussed the preventive and response plan is being implemented since 28 March, and it has covered all the IDP camps and conflict shelters in Kachin, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Chin states, and he called for preparing project reports on this programme. He added his office has allowed addition aid to the existing social welfare fund for the elderly persons, the pregnant woman and their infants up to two years, while plans are underway to provide the cash for nutrition for the senior citizens between aged 60 and 85 during the COVID-19 crisis..."
