"UNION Minister Dr Win Myat Aye of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement presented certificates of honour, badges, facemasks and hand sanitizers to the volunteers and civil society organizations (CSOs) for protection against COVID-19 pandemic in Sittway Township, Rakhine State yesterday. The Union Minister and party also provided cash aids to pregnant women, children under 5-years-old and the elderly after organizing the handover ceremony at a quarantine centre in Sittway Traditional Medicine Hospital. The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Aung and officials with General Administration Department, Public Health Department, and Department of Medical Services. Officials from Rakhine state government, the General Administration Department and related volunteers steering committees will give the certificates of honour to 364 volunteers and 37 philanthropic organizations in the region.
