"ONE man was injured after two improvised explosive devices were detonated in Taungup, Rakhine State, on 7th January. Two mines, planted near Kinchay Village on An-Kyaukpyu Road in Taungup, exploded at 11:40 am when a truck, driven by U Aung Maung, 49, passed through the area. The truck was returning to Pyay after transporting construction materials to Kyaukpyu. Officials report that the force of the explosion destroyed the truck’s windshield and U Myint Oo, the driver, sustained injuries near his right ear. The police are investigating the incident under the Anti-terrorist law at the Mai Township Police Station, according to officials at the Myanmar Police Force..."
