Mitsubishi, please,
You are killing plants and trees.
Let them live in peace.

ON MARCH 20TH, THE 3RD ANNUAL HAIKU
PROJECT FOR FREEDOM AND THE ENVIRONMENT

On March 20th, the Vernal Equinox, The Burmese Relief
Center -- Japan is holding a unique Haiku - in to call for
Mitsubishi to end its rape of the environment and to pull out
of Burma until Democracy comes.

Participants will gather on Shinsaibashi - Dotonbori Bridge
at 11AM. =20

HAIKU   Original Haiku with their unmistakable messages
to Mitsubishi, composed in Japanese, English, French, and
Burmese will be displayed for passers by to appreciate,
before they are mailed to Minoru Makihara, President of
Mitsubishi Corporation.

DRAMA  A colorful and exciting "street theater" will be
performed by costumed volunteers.  The different scenes will
graphically show the Burmese military violently crushing the
1988 democracy movement, the rush for Burma's natural
resources, wholesale cutting of Burma's teak forests, civil
war, forced labor, and Mitsubishi's cynical involvement in
Burma. =20

LETTER   Signatures and haiku, on a giant letter appealing
to Minoru Makihara, Mitsubishi Corporation's president,
will be welcome.   The letter will urge Mitsubishi to become
ecologically responsible worldwide and demand that
Mitsubishi end its involvement with the Burmese military
junta, SLORC.

BOYCOTT  March 20th will mark the official beginning of a
boycott called by Burmese Relief Center- - Japan of all
Mitsubishi products, including Kirin beer, Mitsubishi TVs,
Nikon camera, Mitsubishi pencils, Mitsubishi air
conditioners, Mitsubishi cars.  In short, ALL Mitsubibishi
products.

We are DEMANDING Mitsubishi

* stop the wholesale destruction of the earth's rainforests,=20
* adopt ecologically sound practices worldwide, and
* end investment in Burma until the country gains
democracy and freedom from the despotic military regime,
SLORC.

MITSUBISHI, the world's largest destroyer of forests and
trees.

BOYCOTT all products made by the Mitsubishi
Conglomerate.
