Among the papers of the late Gerald Davis (now in the keeping of the Burma [Myanmar] Philatelic Study Circle), I came across two or three pages of unpublished biographical notes labelled ?People who have made an impact on [the] philately of Burma?. The two dozen or so entries contain both the living and the dead, and, besides philatelists, include such figures as Thomas Archer, artist engraver at Nasik, and two Governors of Burma. Most are British, and there is only one Burmese name.
