"The alliance’s Ta’ang National Liberation Army, Arakan Army (AA), and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army have clashed with the Tatmadaw (military) numerous times since August 15, when they launched surprise attacks on Pyin Oo Lwin in Mandalay Region and Nawngcho in Shan State. The alliance also includes the Kachin Independence Army, which has not been involved in the clashes. A joint statement by the three groups warned that while the truce would mean their forces would not attack military positions, they will defend themselves if necessary.
