"Main objectives for this research report on Understanding Recruitment Industry in Thailand are: 1. Study the structure, profile and characteristics of Thai employment agencies 2. Examine the practices of licensed employment agencies in recruiting Thai migrant workers for employment abroad 3. Explore possible ties between the employment agencies and government officials and politicians 4. Investigate the enforcement of the labor recruitment law with respect to employment agencies, as well as possible links to human trafficking. The study examined the existing 218 licensed employment agencies in Thailand located in both Bangkok and upcountry.
