Description:
On 28 November 1885, under the leadership General Prendergast, the British army occupied the Mandalay Palace.
Some Myanmar ministers advised King Thibaw to leave the capital but he refused to run away. Nonetheless
consideration was given by King Thibaw and some ministers to retreat from the capital to Shwebo or a some other safer
