HLUTTAW SESSIONS:-Pyidaungsu Hluttaw: Pyidaungsu Hluttaw raises objection to UNSG?s use of ?Rohingya”: Nay Pyi Taw, 14 Nov — "The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw session on Friday unanimously approved an emergency motion calling on the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw to object to the use of the term ?Rohingya” by UN Secretary-General Ban Kimoon as it interfered with the sovereignty of Myanmar. The motion was put forward by Representative U Thein Nyunt of Thingangyun Township Constituency and seconded by Representative Daw Khin Saw Wai of Yathedaung Township Constituency. U Thein Nyunt said that under international law, all should respect the law of a host country and the UN secretary-general should not have used the word ?Rohingya,” as the people it refers to have never existed officially in Myanmar and are not Myanmar citizens, adding that this might harm the stability of the democratic transition..."...Pyithu Hluttaw: Pyithu Hluttaw approves FPTP electoral system: Nay Pyi Taw, 14 Nov — "Although the Hluttaw commission to review the electoral system recommended 8 electoral systems, the Pyithu Hluttaw session on Friday approved the current first-past-thepost system as the seven others breach the provisions of the state constitution. Concerning the electoral system, the speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw said some representatives including ethnic national races raised objections to changing the electoral system to a proportional representation system but he formed the commission to review the electoral systems..."...Amyotha Hluttaw: Laungshay rejected for inclusion on World Heritage List: Nay Pyi Taw, 14 Nov — "Deputy Minister for Culture U Than Swe on Friday rejected a request by U Hla Swe of Magway Region constituency-12 to the Amyotha Hluttaw on Friday to include Laungshay in Saw, a town in Magway Region, as an archaeological site on the World Heritage List and as a tourist destination. U Than Swe said that there is no plan to inscribe Laungshay on the World Heritage List as it takes nearly four years to collect data for an archaeological site to be submitted.
