whether the Myanmar
National Human Rights
Commission is independent,
Chairman U Win Mra
of the commission said that
the commission is an independent
government-funded
body formed in accordance
with the law to protect
the fundamental rights of
the citizens stated in the state constitution and it implements
the strategic plan
and projects to promote
and protect human rights
by compiling human rights
reports and helping answer
questions at the United Nations
Human Rights Council..."
