"THE International Organization for Migration (IOM) presented the action plan books on natural disaster management and emergency response in Rakhine State at the office of State General Administration Department in Sittway yesterday morning. At the ceremony Dr. Chan Thar, the Minister for Social Affairs in Rakhine State, made an opening remark, followed by an explanation of Mr Konrad Clos, the programme manager of IOM, about the programme, and its official discussed disaster reduction plans in Rakhine State. U Kyaw Min, the Director of Rakhine State Disaster Management Department, said, “The action plans will be useful in responding to natural disasters as the plans were adopted to cover the whole State.” The action plan books were written under the guidelines of Rakhine State government and the Rakhine State Disaster Management Department, with the collaboration of IOM, beginning September 2019.
