Schraner Burgener held talks
with the members of Rakhine
State government at its office
in Sittway yesterday morning.
The meeting was attended
by the State government’s Security
and Border Affairs Minister
Col Min Than, Minister for Finance,
Taxation, Planning and
Economic U Kyaw Aye Thein,
Minister for Agriculture, Livestock,
Forestry and Mining U
Kyaw Lwin and cabinet members.
First, the UN SG Envoy
expressed thanks for the arrangements
and facilitation
of Rakhine State government
during her fifth visit to Rakhine.
She also made discussions
on the returnees from the other
countries on their own volition,
IDPs, stability of the areas, humanitarian
assistances from
UN bodies and international
organizations, preparations of
Rakhine State government for
2020 General Election and her
report on the developing situations
of Rakhie State to her
headquarters.
In the afternoon, the Deputy
Minister and the UN SG
Envoy, accompanied by the Col
Min Than and cabinet members,
proceeded from Sittway
to Sintatmaw IDP camp in
Pauktaw town by speedboats.
The UN SG Envoy asked
about situations of the camp
to the IDPs there before flying
back from Sittway to Yangon in
the afternoon..."
