"AA group stopped a Shwepyithit
express bus near mile-post
127 of MraukU-Sittway road in
Rakhine State MraukU Township
and abducted 19 Fire Department
personnel and 12
passengers on the bus on the
morning of 11 October.
The express bus 6J/xxxx
carrying 31 passengers, 19 Rakhine
State Fire Department
personnel and 12 civilians, was
driven by U Nyi Nyi Hein of
Mandalay Region Chanmyathazi
Township’s Aungpinle Ward
together with assistant U Ko
Oo and bus attendant U Myint
Soe @ Yamin Soe. The express
bus left Mandalay for Sittway
on the afternoon of 10 October
and on reaching mile-post 127
at about 9:50 am on 11 October
it stopped for a man in civilian
cloth at the roadside who
was signaling the bus to stop.
Once the bus stopped about
18 armed men from AA group
in sportswear emerged from
the forest and abducted the 31
passengers into the forest. As
the driver, driver assistant and
bus attendant were released
with the express bus, the bus
arrived in Sittway later.
AA group was conducting
acts of disrupting peace and
rule of law as well as abducting
public servants and innocent
civilians, according to news
released by Myanmar Police
Force..."
