"DEPUTY Speaker of Amyotha
Hluttaw U Aye Tha Aung, in
his capacity as the chairman
of Rakhine State Stability Supporting
Committee, presented
cash funds for installation of an
elevator at the ancient Yin Yoe
pagoda in Angu village of Myebon
Township, and he also gave
relief items for the internally displaced
persons in that township
of Rakhine State yesterday.
The Deputy Speaker and
party arrived at Sittway Airport
at 8:30 am. They were welcomed
by the State Security and Border
Affairs Minister Colonel
Min Than, Rakhine State Advocate-
General U Kyaw Hla Tun
and officials.
The cash donation ceremony
for installation of elevator
was held at the meeting hall of
Rakhine State government villa,
and it was attended by committee’s
Vice Chairman and Union
Minister for Information Dr Pe
Myint, its Secretary and Deputy
Minister U Tin Myint, the committee
members, departmental
officials and Yin Yoe pagoda’s
board of trustee.
At the ceremony, the Deputy
Speaker donated K15 million
for the elevator.
He also provided relief assistance
at the same venue for
the IDPs in Rakhine State, and
said the government is giving
aid to the civilians fled from
armed conflicts as they are
facing problems in livelihood,
social, education and health
services.
Union Minister Dr Pe Myint
also explained the process of
Rakhine State Stability Supporting
Committee in producing its
report for peace, stability and
security of the State.
Rakhine State Chief Minister
U Nyi Pu briefed on his
government’s works in providing
humanitarian assistance
to IDPs and measures to end
ongoing problems in the State.
At the ceremony, Chairman
U Aye Tha Aung handed over
K12,734,400 to purchase twoweek
rice ration for 3,032 IDPs
from 802 families.
Deputy Minister U Tin Myint
also explained the government’s
plan to provide assistance
in the future.
The Rakhine State Stability
Supporting Committee and the
Rakhine State government then
held a meeting at the meeting
hall of villa.
The Chairman said that the
visit of his committee was to
witness developments in Rakhine
State for producing a report
which is in the stage of third
draft..."
