"1. The residents of Aung-tha-ya Ward (Mogok, Mandalay division) were ordered by the ward authorities to assemble at the Primary School No:(87) at 10:00 a.m. on 3 May 2000 with their household census lists. 2. These lists were collected by members of the Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) who copied the particulars from these lists on to printed forms.which they brought with them. One member from each household was made to sign on the dotted line on behalf of all the members of the household. 3. When some people questioned why their signatures were required the reply given by U Khwa Lone, a member of the USDA was " your signature is required to indicate loss of confidence in NLD Pyithu Hlutaw Representative U Bo Hla Tint and Daw May Hnin Kyi, (Constituency 1 and 2) and for the dissolution of the NLD". They were also told that those who did no sign would be listed for the records..."
