Myanmar - Floods, update (DG ECHO Partners, Floodlist, media, DMH) (ECHO Daily Flash of 11 October 2023)

Description: 

"Heavy rainfall has been causing floods in southern Myanmar, in particular in Bago and Yangon regions and Mon State, since 8 October. The overflowing of the Bago River has resulted in both casualties and damage. According to media reports, as of 11 October, there have been five fatalities and 35 people have been injured. Some 27,300 people are reported to have been displaced, including people who had already been displaced and were staying across 47 relief camps. About 2, 800 houses have been damaged. Very heavy rainfall is forecast over the whole of Myanmar over the next 48 hours, making more flooding possible..."
