"INVITATION for a NEW BOOK LAUNCH on the WOMEN OF BURMA DAY"
===========================================================
Dear respected guests,
May we invite you to a new book launch on the Women of Burma Day?
It was two years ago that Burmese women unanimously recognised
the Women of Burma Day on 19 June, at the 51st birthday
celebration of our leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace
Laureate. This was primarily a tribute to an outstanding women
of Burma and of our time, in honour of her work, leadership and
the sacrifices that she has made for our country. This year, we
have published a bilingual book entitled "BURMA: Voices of Women
in the Struggle" to mark the Women of Burma Day 1998, written by
Burmese women and edited by the Thnahka Team. Since we all have
to work during the week days the new book launch will take place
on the coming Sunday.
Date: :Sunday, 21 June 1998.
Time: :Starting from 1:00 pm.. till...5:00 pm.
