Delegate groups of National Convention hold meetings
YANGON, 17 Oct - Delegate groups of political parties, representatives-elect, peasants, workers, intellectuals and intelligentsia and other invited persons held group meetings at the designated places of Nyaunghnapin Camp in Hmawby Township this morning.
Delegate Group of Political Parties
The group meeting of Delegate Group of Political Parties was held at the hall-1 this morning. U Saw Philip (a) U Philip Sam of Wa National Development Party presided over the meeting together with member of the Panel of Chairman U Tun Yin Law of National Unity Party.
Deputy Director U Khin Maung Phyu of Work Group-3 of the National Convention Convening Work Committee and Assistant Director Daw Htay Htay Win acted as MCs.
The MC declared the start of the group meeting as 29 out of 30 delegates were in attendance, accounting for 96.67 per cent.
Meeting Chairman U Saw Philip (a) U Philip Sam and U Tun Yin Law of National Unity Party read out the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
Next, the delegates held discussions to com-pile a proposal paper. Later, the meeting ended with concluding remarks of the meeting chairman.
Delegate Group of Representatives-elect U Law Hsin Kwam of Kokang Democracy and Unity Party presided over the meeting at the hall No 2 this morning together with members of the Panel of Chairmen U Maung Gyi of Union Pa-O National Organization and U San Tha Aung of Mro (or) Khami National Solidarity Organization. Deputy Director U Khin Sein and Assistant Director Daw Mi Mi Shein acted as MCs. All the delegates of the group attended the meeting.

Next, U Law Hsin Kwam and U San Tha Aung read out the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
Those present took part in the discussions to compile the proposal paper.
Later, the Meeting Chairman gave concluding remarks.
Delegate Group of Peasants
The group meeting took place at the hall No 4 this morning. U Kan Nyunt of Sagaing Division presided over the meeting together with members of the Panel of Chairmen U Tin Maung Kyaw of Magway Division and U Kyi Tint of Ayeyawady Division. A total of 92 delegates or 98.92 per cent attended the meeting.
Members of the Panel of Chairmen U Mya Aye of Yangon Division and U Sai Tint Aung of Shan State (North) read out the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
The Alternate Meeting Chairman assigned duties to the proposal compilation group formed with 14 delegates from States and Divisions. Later, the Alternate Meeting Chairman gave the concluding remarks.
Delegate Group of Workers
The delegate group held its meeting at the hall No 5 this morning. The meeting was presided over by U Bo Thein (Taungdwin Bo Thein) of Shan State (East) together with members of the Panel of Chairmen Dr Myo Thant Tin of Yangon Division and U Kyaw Win Tun of Mandalay Division.
A total of 46 delegates out of 47 or 97.87 per cent attended the meeting. First, Alternate Meeting Chairman U Bo Thein (Taungdwin Bo Thein) gave a speech. Next, Dr Myo Thant Tin and U Kyaw Win Tun read out the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
The meeting ended at 9.45 am.
Delegate Group of Intellectuals and Intelligentsia
The delegate group held its meeting at the hall No 6 this morning. Professor Head of Department Surgical Specialist Dr Thein Nyunt (Nyunt Wai-Katha) presided over the meeting with President of Myanmar Academy of Technology Science Dr U Thein Oo Po Saw and Film Director U Khin Zaw.
Altogether 53 delegates out of 56 or 94.64 per cent participated in the meeting.
Dr Thein Nyunt (Nyunt Wai-Katha) gave an opening address, and read out the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
Next, the proposal compilation group was set up. The meeting ended with concluding remarks by the Alternate Meeting Chairman.
Delegate Group of Other Invited Persons
The group meeting of the Delegate Group of Other Invited Persons was held at the hall No 8 this morning. Vice-Chairman of Myanmar History Commission U Sai Aung Tun presided over the meeting with Secretary of Myanmar History Commission U Tun Aung Chein, U Paw Laik Kham of Shan State (North) Special Region-2, Dr Manan Tu Ja of Kachin State Special Region-2 and U Aung Kham Hti of Shan State (South) Special Region-6.
The MC declared the start of the group meeting as 87 out of 89 delegates were in attendance, accounting for 97.75 per cent.
Alternate Meeting Chairman U Sai Aung Tun delivered an opening address. NC delegates Malaria specialist Dr Chan Tha (a) U Nyi Nyi and U Sai Kai Hpa of Shan State (North) Special Region-3 explained the clarification of the National Convention Convening Work Committee Chairman concerning separate suggestions to seek the approvals of the delegate groups, and these suggestions were submitted by the delegate groups to lay down detailed basic principles for the functions on legislation of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw, Pyithu Hluttaw, Amyotha Hluttaw, and Region or State Hluttaw to be included in the writing of the State Constitution, the chapter on the citizens and fundamental rights and duties of the citizens and the role of the Tatmadaw.
