Secretary-1 inspects arrangements for National Convention
Yangon, 3 Oct—Chairman of the National Convention Convening Commission Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thein Sein yesterday morning inspected arrangements for the National Convention to be reconvened on 10 October 2006 at Nyaunghnapin Camp in Hmawby Township, Yangon Division.
The Secretary-1, together with Lt-Gen Myint Swe of the Ministry of Defence, Chairman of Yangon City Development Committee Mayor Brig-Gen Aung Thein Lin, Vice-Chairman of the National Convention Convening Management Committee Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen Aye Myint Kyu, and member of the NCC Work Committee Deputy Minister for Education U Myo Nyunt, was welcomed at the camp by officials of the NCC Work Committee and Management Committee and chairmen of respective subcommittees and officials concerned.
The Secretary-1 inspected the preparations made in Pyidaungsu Hall and gave instructions to the officials.
He also looked into the meeting hall of the NCCC at Anawrahta Yeiktha, the dining hall of Bagan hostel and the dining hall for the staff, the office of the invitation and reception subcommittee, hostels of female delegates and male delegates, mess (1), GEC shop, Win Thuzar shop of the Ministry of Industry-1, Maung Chit store and tailoring shop, Sarpay Beikman book shop, Myanma spectacles shop, the office of the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications, Padetha restaurant, Daing Khin Khin bookstore, TM store, and the barber shop of the Border Trade Department. Next, he inspected the gymnasium, golf training range, and Nyaunghnapin station hospital. Officials concerned conducted them round the camp.
The NCCC Chairman gave instructions to the officials on fulfillment of the requirements for the convenience of the NC delegates.
Shan State
(North)’s delegates to NC arrive
Yangon, 3 Oct — Delegates to the National Convention from Shan State (North) arrived here by air today to participate in the National Convention.
They were welcomed at Yangon International Airport by Chairman of Invitation and Accomodation Sub-Committee of National Convention Convening Management Committee Col Htein Linn and members of the sub-committee. The delegates were conveyed to Nyaunghnapin Camp in Hmawby Township where the National Convention will be reconvened.
