Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thein Sein attends meeting No 4/2005 of NCCC.

Tasks to be carried out at coming National Convention discussed.

YANGON, 27 Aug— Meeting No 4/2005 of the National Convention Convening Commission took place at the meeting room of NCCC on Kyaikkasan Grounds, here, this afternoon. Chairman of the National Convention Convening Commission Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thein Sein attended the meeting and made a speech.

Also present on the occasion were Vice-Chairmen of NCCC Minister for Electric Power Maj-Gen Tin Htut and Chief Justice U Aung Toe, Secretary of the commission Minister for Information Brig-Gen Kyaw Hsan and commission members.

Joint Secretary-2 of NCCC Director-General of Pyithuhluttaw Office U Myint Thein acted as Master of Ceremonies.

In his speech, Chairman of NCCC Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thein Sein said that coordination meetings on tasks to be carried out at the National Convention to be reconvened by the end of this year are being held and detailed basic principles for sharing of judicial powers to be included in the drafting of the State Constitution were laid down at the National Convention held from 1 February to 31 March this year.

The Secretary-1 continued to say that submission of clarification on findings of the Work Committee concerning sharing of executive and legislative powers has been made and delegates to the National Convention has submitted their proposals.

In this meeting, commission members are to discuss reports presented by the National Convention Convening Work Committee on matters relating to the tasks to be carried out at the coming National Convention, he said.

Next, commission members discussed presentation made by NCCWC.

In response to the discussion, the Secretary-1 gave necessary instructions. The meeting ended with concluding remarks by Secretary-1 Lt-Gen Thein Sein.
