Two Arakanese organizations
hold rallies for Daw Suu's birthday in Dhaka
Two Arakanese organizations, Democratic Force of Arakan (DFA) and Rakhaing Women
Union (RWU), both in exiles, held rallies to commemorate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's birthday in

held a demonstration in front of the high court in
Over 70 activists from the DFA chanted various slogans like “we want democracy”
and “we demand the immediate release of Aung San Suu Kyi and all political
prisoners from the jails” during the two hour long demonstration, which started
at 10 am.
The demonstrators also carried banners and placards inscribed with demands for
the immediate release of their leader Suu Kyi.

meeting on Daw Suu's sixtieth birthday at the
National Press Club of Dhaka.
Several political leaders and social activists from Bangladesh attended and
spoke at the meeting, including: Awami League leader
KM Jahangir; Human Rights activist Khushi Kabir; Worker Party leader
Haider Akbar Khan Rano; Bangladesh Society for the Enforcement of Human Right
activist Aleana Khan; Rakhaing
Development Foundation president U Chit Maung and RWU leaders.
