Bangladesh government awards stipends to 153 Arakanese students from Cox’s Bazaar

The ceremony was held in the hall room of RBWA in Cox’s Bazaar, with over 200 Arakanese students and their parents in attendance.
In the ceremony, Harbibu Rarhaman,
Cox’s Bazaar District Deputy Commissioner, awarded the stipend to the students.
Over 70 students from classes 6 to 10 received 450 Taka, while about 30
students from Class 10 to University level received 700 taka per year.
U Maung Kyaw Min, president
of RBWA, and several Arakanese community leaders also
attended in the ceremony.
The stipend has been granted to the Arakanese
students after RBWA recently requested the government of Bangladesh to
help support the students, said a RBWA leader.
It was learnt that the program will be continued in the near future to assist
rural Arakanese students from Tawdigya
village, Kala Chok Para and
Hara Bong village under the Cox’sbazar district. #
