 Business set to rocket by $150m with new bridge

MYANMAR and Thailand have welcomed the start of work on a second “friendship’ border bridge linking the two countries, saying it will lead to increase trade and tourism.

The bridge, spanning the Mae Sai River between Tachilek and the Thai town of Mae Sai, was an example of the two governments working together for “the improvement of the living standards of our peoples,” said the Myanmar Foreign Minister, U Win Aung.
