Training on HIV/AIDS Held in Rohingya Camp

Bazar, April 30: Awareness training on HIV/AIDS has been held for four days at Kutupalong Rohingya refugee Camp
in
Family
Planning Association of
Mr.
Nurul Alam Chaudhury, the Camp-in-Charge of the Kutupalong
refugee camp was the chief guest, while the Deputy Director of BCC, Mr. Shahed Hossain was in the Chair.
Medical
Team leader Dr. Abdur Rahman,
FPAB Senior Program officer, Moazzem Hossain, field officer, Mr. Mohammed Iqbal,
and Project Coordinator Ms. Sayema Akhtar were among the other speakers in the session, he
further said.
In
the training, they mainly discussed on the themes of HIV/AIDS and family
planning. The UNICEF supported to the FPAB for the program to bring awareness
about HIV/ AIDS and among Rohingya and Rakhaing communities. 14 refugees including females from
the camp participated in the training, said a participant.
On
the other hand, on
Ms.
Afrozah Parvin, the
Director of the Women Empowerment Program was in the Chair, while Associate
Secretary for the Rohingya Refugee Repatriation
Commissioner, M.D. Shuebur Rahman
was chief guest in the program.
Senior
Assistant Secretary and the Camp-in-Charge of the Kutupalong
refugee camp, Mr. Nurul Alam
Chaudhry was special guest in the program. Dr. Pizush Kanti Barua,
the Physician of Women Empowerment Program and M. M. Sadek
Labu, health educator of the program were among the
others.
Shuebur Rahman, said, “Everybody would be aware of HIV/AIDS,
Malaria and Tuberculosis.” He called upon the refugees to maintain hygiene and
religious norms for their health and survival in the presence of hundreds of
refugees in Kutupalong.”
