Thai fake money 1000 Baht bank notes are found in a Thai-Burma border town, Three Pagoda Pass Town, opposite of Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province.

“Our town resident found the fake Thai bank not since a week ago and now my shop found one of 1000 Baht bank note,” Win Mar Exchange Shop owner, Mr. Nai Lorn said.

“It was very different from the real bank note. You can look at “1000” number in the upper right of the bank note, if it is red color, it was fake and if it is gold color, it was real one. You can make sure, the fake bank note paper is thick and the real one is thin,” the shop owner explained.

The fake bank notes have been quite distributed in the border town and it made the people to be careful and surprising. Many grocery shops, furniture making industries and gold wares selling shops in Three Pagoda Pass have to be careful for avoiding the fake bank not and are using the bank note checking machines for the 1000 bank notes reach to their business.

The New Mon State Party’s Economics Department’s Ramonnya International Company LTD’s officers in town said they have received two fake bank notes today when they are exchanging the money between Burmese currency Kyat and Thai currency Baht.

The No.3 township quarter Peace and Development Council staff also received the fake bank note when they sell the land to residents who has to relocate their houses to new resettlement area after the Thai businessmen’s plan for casino business, said a source who close to them.

“I think the person who make the fake bank note do not dare to distribute a huge amount of fake notes immediately. They may test or distribute it slowly because we did not found it in huge amount in a place. We just found it one or two notes,” Nai Lorn added.

According to source close to Burmese authorities, the authorities prepared to take action for that case and plan to find out who involve producing fake Thai bank notes.

Three Pagoda Pass border town is a business location for Burmese and Thai traders.   Main trading is exporting Thai goods to Burma and Thai traders are importing furniture from this town. All town residents and majority of traders in the border town prefer to use Thai currency ‘Baht’, because it is more stable and less inflation if compared against Burmese currency Kyat.
