Songs of Mon Composers on Sale

A leader of Mon music association and famous Mon singer “Pamaukha Chan” said the Burmese song producers bought two Mon songs and so that composing style of the songs will separate into Burmese artist’s entertainment community. 

 

These two songs: “Ask Permission for Love” (Kor Akhoung Chan Nyeed) and “Friends! Help Me” (Roi Tor Ream) in Mon language are the famous songs, which are sung by a Mon singer “Anat Ghae in CDs and tapes, and most listeners like these songs.  The first song was written by “Wunna Thukha” and composed by “Thaya (Eco)” while the second song was written by “Blai Mon Lawi Rot” and composed by “Pamaukha Chan”.  

 

“I’m so glad that the Burmese artists bought our songs. If they ask, we also can give them free because we want to separate our works to the whole country.  I’m glad other people valued our works”, said “Pamaukha Chan”. 

 

Burmese Artists who bought the songs are Drummer U Saw Phu and Min Thu Ya and they paid 80, 000 Kyat (~ 80 US Dollar) per song to Mon music association. 

 

While the Mon composers were planning to produce the Mon songs, the Burmese artists also came and bought the composing music notes.  One of Burmese song writer Min Thu Ya wrote both songs and put the Burmese words in the whole songs.  They plan to produce a song in the government’s “Myawaddy” television program, and they will sell another song for a singer, said by a Burmese artist. 

 

Min Thu Ya also told to Pamaukchan, “the composing style of Mon songs are so professional.  You need to try to get involved in the country or Burmese artists’ entertainment community”, as the Mon singer explained to IMNA.   Min Thu Ya is a well-known Burmese song writers and he is working for Myanmar Television Channel (MRTV-4).  

 

Two Shan ethnic singers who sing the Burmese songs: “Wun Daing” and “Kyaw Han” also asked the Mon composers to sell the styles of Mon songs to them. 

 

The original singer of these Mon songs, “Anat Ghae” said that he also liked the most of two composing songs in his produced songs in CDs and tapes.

 

There are over 20 singers in Mon community involving in singing Mon language songs and they also formed artists and music association comprising many well-known singers and song composers.  Music industries in the Mon community have grown up after these associations are formed last 3-4 years ago.  

 

Pamaukha Chan said, the composing style of Mon songs reached a level of professional and the singers are also well practiced in singing their responsible songs.  Therefore, he thought the Burmese artists liked and bought them.
