There is a bomb explosion in car park near the Township Peace and Development Council Office in Three Pagoda Pass border town about 7: 20 a.m. in early morning, but it does not hurt anyone.

According to the source, a cleaner, who was cleaning in the Township PDC office, found the bomb in milk can.  Then she informed to the military officers of Infantry No. 36 in the town. While the bomb experts were testing for the bomb from a distance, it exploded up.

The bomb was planted by the cease-fire groups accused by a member of Township PDC.   But he did not mention who was responsible for.

“No one knows who planted the bombs and created explosion. It will be some groups have responsible for it.   If not, the government troops might plant it by themselves,” said an Intelligent Officer of Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA).

An Intelligence Officer from NMSP in the border town said “the responsible person will not be an ordinary citizen and the other cease-fired groups planted the bomb for explosion. Or, it might have conflicts among the government authorities or army officers and they planted it.   It can be a tactic to blame to other groups.”

Nobody was injured in an explosion. The bomb was found in a can of milk. There was fuel and the explosive was tided with rubber strings in the can, said a member of investigator bomber.

No organization in the town spoke out for the responsibility and the people believed there is some conflict of interests occurred.

SPDC authorities and commanders of IB No. 36 also put March 31 as a deadline and ordered the individuals and armed groups in the town to turn up their unlicensed cars (which imported from Thailand) and officially give back to the government.   Some dissatisfaction occurred among the ceasefire groups and they claimed that they bought the cars with their money and would not like to give to SPDC authorities.

Since toppling down the former Intelligence Chief or Prime Minister Lt. Gen. Khin Nyunt in October 2003, SPDC has intensified their relationship to ceasefire groups and restricted their businesses which has been permitted by Khin Nyunt.
