Law No 16/89 -- the Law Amending the
1962 Printers and Publishers Registration Law
of the State
Law and Order Restoration Council,

1. This Law shall be known as
the Law Amending the 1962 Printers and Publishers Registration Law. 2. In the 1962 Printers and Publishers Registration Law:
A. The expression, "imprisonment
for a term not
exceeding 3 years or fine not exceeding 2,000 kyats or both" contained in
Section 16 and Section 18 shall be substituted by the expression,
"imprisonment for a term which may extend from a minimum of 6 months to a
maximum of 5 years or fine which may extend from a minimum oi
2,000 kyats to a maximum of 20,000 kyats or both".
B. The expression, "imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or fine
not exceeding 2,000 kyats or both" contained in Section 17, Section 19 and
Section 20 shall be substituted by the expression, "imprisonment for a
term which may extend from a minimum of 1 year to.a maximum_of 7 years or fine which may extend from a minimum
of 3,000 kyats to a maximum of 30,000 kyats or both".
