Convention delegates go to pagodas, Kanbawzathadi
Palace in Bago
Accompanied by officials of the National Convention
Convening Invitation and Accommodation Sub-committee, the delegates left here
by car and arrived at Shwehmawdaw Pagoda in Bago at
At Myingyar Dhammayon, member of the pagoda board of trustees U Tun Nyunt explained the history of the pagoda. The delegates donated K 123,015 toward the pagoda fund. On arrival at Seinthalyaung Reclining Buddha Image, officials and members of the pagoda board of trustees welcomed them. The delegates offered flowers and lights to the image and presented K 92,460 toward the fund.
They then proceeded to Kanbawzathadi
Palace of King Bayintnaung. They were welcomed there
by Assistant Director U Myat Swe of Archaeology
Department and officials. U Myat Swe explained the
history of the palace. The delegates visited the royal audience hall, Bamayathana Throne and the
They then went to Shwethalyaung
Reclining Buddha Image, and paid obeisance and donated K 84,090. Certificates
of honour were given to them. The delegates left

Convention delegates entertained with films at Nyaunghnapin
Camp
YANGON, 19 June — The Entertainment and Welfare Subcommittee of the National Convention Convening Management Committee is organizing entertainment programmes for delegates to the National Convention daily at the gymnasium of Nyaunghnapin Camp.
Yesterday evening, the delegates were
entertained with a film entitled “Myit Toe Ei Maya” (Trickiness of River) directed by Mee Pwa and starring Yan Aung, Ye Aung, May Than Nu
and Soe Moe Kyi.
