A house which the Mon rebel fired to 6 Burmese (SPDC) soldiers while falling in
asleep was totally burnt down by the Burmese soldiers and household heads were
also arrested on the next day, the villagers told IMNA yesterday.
The burnt house was in Mi-Htaw-hlar village, southern
Ye Township, where 4 Burmese soldiers among 6 under the command of Light Infantry
Battalion No. 282 were shot to death by the Mon rebels while they were sleeping
on August 29.
“The soldier arrested the owners of the house, Mr. Nai
Yein, Mr. Mi Doat and our
village headman on the next day morning. The soldiers took three of them to the
Tavoy (Dawai) Town,”
Mi Htaw-hlar villagers said. Tavoy
town is situating south of Ye Town and is in Tenasserim
Division where LIB No. 282 took base.
“After that the soldier threatened the owners Nai Yein and Mi Doat and their family
members not to collect belongings in the house and then they burned down the
entire house,” the villagers added.
“Another 6 villagers who were on duty of patrolling the
village (under the command of Burmese soldiers) also arrested by
Infantry Battalion No. 61. The 6 villagers have been still investigated
by the Burmese Army in Ye Town now,” a
villager explained.
“It is the nature of Burmese Army that they are arresting the villagers and
village headmen. And they also investigate them with serious torturing against
the villagers,” Nai Pan Nyunt, a Mon rebel leader
said.
“They also ordered the villagers, if the Burmese soldiers were fighting with us
near their village or in the village that villagers will be punished by them,” he added.
“That order was distributed in all villages in southern Ye Township about one
month ago,” Nai Pan Nyunt told IMNA.
In the Mon rebels’ ambush, two children of Nai Yein and Mi Doat wounded by gun
fires and the Mon rebels seized five guns from the Burmese soldiers.
According the villagers, the Burmese Army is so angry to the villager because
of the Mon rebels could surround their soldiers and shot them death while the
Burmese Army and the instructed patrolling groups have taken intensive security
in the area.
