contribute to producing brilliant persons serving the national interests in
the future. The government is extending the modern learning-teaching centres

standard and to gradually narrow the education gap between urban and rural.
There was an education divide between rural and urban in the past. At present
the government is playing a key role in implementing the education promotion
programmes; thus, the rural-urban education gap has been reduced to a
significant degree. The majority of the students who passed the matriculation
examination with highest marks in the whole nation are not from Yangon. There
is no difference between the intellectual ability of the students of urban
and rural. Application of better learning-teaching techniques and modern
teaching aids will level their intellectual ability.

Hence, the government is implementing the education promotion programmes with
a view to applying correct learning-teaching systems and providing adequate
amount of teaching aids. Thus, it is specially required for the public to
take part in implementing the education promotion programmes in the entire
nation. Understanding the leadership role of the government, the public is
ardently cooperating in its education endeavours, and opening modern
learning-teaching centres in the whole nation. The government and the people
are like the parent and the children. The government has equal goodwill to
all the people. Thus, the government is making arrangements to further
develop the economy and improve social standard of its offspring in the whole
nation. For example, the government has been building a spate of dams in the
agro-based nation. Especially, water pumping stations have been installed in
the dry regions where dams impossible to built. As the government is laying
foundations for progress, the local people should strive to develop their
regions.
