Willing to Be their Hostage..... (r)

Subject: Re: Willing to Be their Hostage.....

I would be too if I were in their shoes caught under the heat of the moment.

I certainly would not want any of them harmed.

These "armed rebels" actually sounded quite polite giving interview on DVD.

Regardless, we should not be encouraging these irresponsible acts, instead
give credit to the Thai officials who seemed to handle this without a
bloodshed.

Violence will be met with violence. A good thing these "armed rebels" were
not violent to their hostages.

I wonder what become of them if they did (harming the hostages). Would the
Thai officials still give them a free get-away ticket to the jungle?? Or
would all of them be shot death in this unfortunate and tragic incident?

Here is what the hostages said...

Even at the most tense moments, Mr Prasert said, he and the other hostages
still wanted the dissidents to depart safely.

"These students treated us well, and there was talk among us about what we
would do. Everyone said even if the students wanted to take us to the border
with them, we were ready to go.

"At that moment everyone was willing to be their hostage, and wanted to see
them return home safely," he said.
