Akyab, June 12: "The Chinese Red Cross Society (CRCS) donated US dollar 20,000 in cash for the victims of the cyclone in Arakan state two weeks ago, reported The New Light of Myanmar on 9 June. The cash donation was delivered to Dr Tun Sein, Acting President of the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS) by Mr Yu Boren, Charge d?Affaires of the Embassy of the People?s Republic of China to Burma. The cyclone hit the Arakan coast on 19 May and left over 300 people dead and more than 20,000 people homeless, as the government disclosed ten days after the incident..."
