''Save as otherwise expressly provided by any law for the time being in Limit of
force, a contempt oi Court may be punished with simple imprisonment for a punishment
term which may extend to six months, or with fine, which may extend to two for contempt
thousand rupees, or with both : of Cuurt- *
Provided that the accused may be discharged or the punishment awarded
may be remitted on apology being made to the satisfaction of the Court :
Provided further that notwithstanding anything elsewhere contained in any
law the High Court shall not impose a sentence in excess of that specified in this
section for any contempt either in respect of itself or of a Court subordinate to it...''

''Whereas it is expedient to make provisions to enable the Government to
expel from the Union of Burma persons who are convicted of certain offences or
ordered to furnish security for good behavior * * * * and are not citizens
of the Union ; It is hereby enacted as follows
1.(1) » * * . *
(2) It extends to the whole of the Union of Burma..
2. In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the context,—
‘.(A) “ Non-Barman " means any person who is not a citizen of the Union.
(B) "Offender " means any person against whom any sentence or order of
the nature here under mentioned has been passed by any Court or
Magistrate other than a Magistrate of the second or third class,
which sentence or order has not been set aside on appeal or
revision, that is to say,—
(i) sentence on conviction of any offence shewn in the First Schedule ; or
(ii) sentence on conviction of any offence shewn in the Second
Schedule after a previous conviction...''

2. For the purposes of this Act. unless there is anything repugnant in Definitions,
the subject or context,—
(a) “cotton goods” or “goods” includes all tissues and other
articles (except yam and thread) woven, knitted or otherwise
manufactured wholly or partly from cotton yarn ;
(b) “ cotton yarn ” or “ yarn ” means yarn wholly or partly composed
of cotton fibres ;
(c) “ mill ” means any building or place where cotton goods are
woven, knitted or otherwise manufactured, or where cotton yarn
is spun by machinery moved otherwise than by manual labour,
and includes every part of such building or place ;
(cl) “ owner ”, in relation to any mill, includes the managing agent or
other principal officer of the mill ; and
(e) “ prescribed ” means prescribed by rules made under this Act...''

''The Registrar may call for further information for the purpose of
satisfying himself that any application complies with the provisions of section or that the Trade Union is entitled to registration under section 6. and may refuse to register the Trade Union until such information is supplied. If the name under which a Trade Union is proposed to be registered is identical with that by which any other existing Trade Union has been registered or. in the opinion of the Registrar, so nearly resemblessuch name as to be likely to deceive the public or the members of either Trade Union, the Registrar shall require the persons applying for registration to alter the name of the Trade Union stated in the application, and shall refuse to register the Union until such alteration has been made...''

''For the High Court a Bar Council shall be constituted in the
manner hereinafter provided.
(2) The Bar Council so constituted shall be a body corporate having
perpetual succession and a common seal, with power to acquire and hold
property, both moveable and immoveable, and contract, and shall by the
name of the Bar Council of the High Court at Rangoon sue and be sued.
4. (/) The Bar Council shall consist of fifteen members, of whom—
(a) one shall be the Attorney-General ;
(b) four shall be persons nominated by the High Court, of whom not
more than two may be Judges of that Court ; and
(c) ten shall be elected by the advocates of the High Court from
amongst their number...''
