Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Round-up: "THE Pyidaungsu Hluttaw discussed
yesterday the bills amending
the Myanmar Mining Law
and the Evidence Act, which
were sent back from the President
with remarks.
In regard to the Myanmar
Mining Law, the Joint Bill Committee
of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw
agreed in three cases out of five
recommendations made by the
President.
For amending the Evidence
Act, the committee agreed to
amend according to remarks by
the President."...Pyithu Hluttaw Round-up: "The bill committee of the Pyithu
Hluttaw yesterday discussed
reports related to three bills concerned
with shops and wages sent
back from the Amyotha Hluttaw
with some amendments.
The three bills were submitted
by the Ministry of Labour,
Employment and Social Security
in November.
They are the bills amending
the Workshops Act of 1951, the
Payment of Wages Bill and the

yesterday U Steven Tharbeik,
MP from Chin State Constituency
No 4 asked a question of the
Ministry of Education in regard
to the issue of the downward
trend in matriculation examination
results over three years in
Chin State.
In response to the question,
Deputy Minister for Education
U Thant Shin said 7,843 education
staff have been appointed at
1,372 basic education schools in
the state to teach 126,705 students.
He also called for staff of
the departments and MPs to cooperate
with teachers, students
and parents to increase the passing
rate in the state."
