Description:
"On 7 April 2021, the international legal counsel of The Republic of the Union of Myanmar ("Myanmar"), acting through the legitimate parliamentary-designated Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw ("CRPH"), the law firm of Volterra Fietta, met with the head
of the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar ("IIMM") and his senior staff. At the meeting, the IIMM and Myanmar's legal representatives discussed the modalities of dialogue and co-operation between Myanmar (acting through CRPH) and the IIMM in relation
to the atrocities committed by the military on 1 February 2021 and thereafter. This was the first such meeting and the dialogue will continue, with meetings planned in the days ahead.
This follows the series of communications that Myanmar (acting through CRPH) directed its legal representatives to make on Friday 2 April 2021 to different International Human Rights
dies of the United Nations, in relation to the atrocities that have been committed by the military since 1 February 2021 against the people of Myanmar and their legitimate, democratically elected representatives.
To date, the CRPH has received more than 272,209 items of evidence. This evidence shows wide scale, systematic and targeted attacks against the civilian population by the military.
