On dates of publication: where documents have no date of publication, I have used the date, or approximate date, of creation of the document, if known. Where several documents are contained in an entry, the date of the most recent is used.

Where known, the date of publication given is that of the original publication. Where the document has not been previously published, or the exact date of publication is unknown, the date given is the latest date covered by the account. Where even this is not known, an approximate date is given, with an explanatory note in the Description field. Where the document is published in a contemporary journal, e.g. the SOAS Bulletin of Burma Research, this contemporary date of publication is given in the Source/publisher field.
