China-Burma to hold joint festival

China and Burma are organizing a joint festival in Yunnan State next
month as a part of forthcoming Kunming?s Second International Tourism
Festival in China. The festival, which aims to promote the friendship
between the two countries, will be held from May 2 to 7 at Tae Hong Tai
District in Yunnan Province, bordering Burma. Yunnan Tourism Department
and Burma?s Hotels and Tourism Ministry will jointly organize it.
The festival would include song-competition, Chinese-Burmese water
festival, Beauty Competition and other presentations including
agricultural products from Burma, said a merchant in the border.
This is the second time that the two countries are organizing such
festival in the border with the similar one held in Tae Hong Tai
District last year.
