General Secretary of the Lahu Democratic Passed Away

(60) years old Mr. Benjamin Kyar Oo, General Secretary of the Lahu =
Democratic Front (LDF), Chairman Of Lahu National Development =
Organization (LNDO) and joint Foreign affairs of National Democratic =
Front (NDF) passed away of heart attack on January 9, 2000 at 2:34 A.M, =
at Mae Cornmic Hospital in Chiangmai, Thailand.

He was also a member of SSNSC (Shan State Nationalities Solidarity =
Council).

Condolence

We are in deep grievance on hearing the death of Ta Tung a.k.a. Benjamin =
Kya Oo a.k.a. Benjamin Min who had expired in Chiangmai at 2:34 a.m. =
this morning. Benjamin, age 60, had been the Chairman of LNDO (Lahu =
National Development Organization), Secretary General of LDF ( Lahu =
Democratic Front) and Deputy Foreign Ministry of NDF. He was also a =
member of SSNSC (Shan State Nationalities Solidarity Council).

It was a great lost to the Lahu people and for all our SSNSC members, as =
he could not participate further in our struggle for freedom.

We, SSA also share the grievance with the Lahu people.
