Secretary-1 attends opening ceremony of basic education
high schools' multi-media classrooms in Bago

YANGON, 2 Jan- Ceremonies to open multi-media
classrooms of No 1 and No 3 Basic Education High
Schools in Bago, Bago Division, were held at the
respective schools this afternoon, attended by
Chairman of Myanmar Education Committee
Secretary-l of the State Peace and Development
Council Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt.  Headmaster U Kyin
Thein and Chairman of SBT U Myint Oo formally
opened multi-media classrooms of the No 3 BEHS.

Then, Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt formally
unveiled the signboard of the multi-media
classrooms.

Later, the Secretary-l and party inspected
demonstration of skills of students at respective
units of the multi-media classrooms, which was
followed by a donation ceremony.The donations for
No 3 BEHS included K 50,000 by member of the State
Peace and Development Council Commander-in-Chief
(Air) Lt-Gen Kyaw Than-Daw Khin Swe Nyunt; K
100,000 by Minister for Rail Transportation U Pan
Aung-Daw Nyunt Nyunt Lwin; K 50,000 by Chief of
Armed Forces Training Maj-Gen Win Myint-Daw Ni Ni;
K 50,000 by Minister for Sports Brig-Gen Thura Aye
Myint-Daw Aye Aye; K 50,000 by Deputy Minister for
Labour Brig-Gen Win Sein-Daw Way Way Thaung; K
50,000 by Joint Secretary of Yangon City
Development Committee U Kyi Win-Daw Yi Lay Cho; K
50,000 by Deputy Head of Engineering Department
(Roads/Bridges) of YCDC U Han Shwe-Daw Khin Ma
Gyi; K 150,000 by Daw Tin Win Yi and family of SI
Co Ltd; K 600,000 by U Hla Thein-Daw Mya Mya Win
and family :  K 50,000 by U Po Kyin-Daw Khin Ma Ma
and family; K 50,000 by Physician Dr U Than Aye-Dr
Daw Khin Ohn Chit; K 50,000 by Physician Dr Toe
Lwin-Dr Myint Myint Yi; K 50,000 by U Nay Dun-Daw

Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt, the commander and
ministers accepted the donations.Afterwards,
Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt and party enjoyed
the entertainment programmes-presented by the
students.

Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt signed in the
visitor's book and then had a souvenir photo taken
together with members of SBT, teachers and
students.

Then, a ceremony to open multi-media classrooms of
No 1 BEHS took place at the school.Headmistress
Daw San San Myint and Chairman of SBT U Aye
formally opened the multi-media
classrooms.Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt then
unveiled the signboard of the multi-media
classrooms.Later, Secretary- 1 Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt
and party viewed demonstration of skills of the
students at the respective units of the
multi-media classrooms.This was followed by a
donation ceremony.

The donations for No 1 BEHS included K 35 million
by SBT and PTA; K 600,0000 by old students of the
school and K 250,000 by U Khin Maung Win (Owner of
Bago Kye Ni Cheroot).

Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt and the commander
accepted the donations.  Afterwards, Secretary-l
Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt signed in the visitor's book.

Secretary-l Lt-Gen Khin Nyunt said the world today
is witnessing rapid progress and nations around
the world are employing advanced technology and
are making remarkable progress.Myanmar, too, is
making arrangements to teach advanced technology
to the student youths who will lead the nation in
future in order that the country may catch up with
international developments.Human resources
development is vital in building a peaceful,
modern and developed nation, he said.

Next, the Secretary-1 posed for photo with members
of the school boards of trustees, those of the
Parent- Teacher Associations, the school heads,
teachers and students.

The Secretary-1 and party arrived back here this
evening.
