(1) Secretary-2 to Visit Lao PDR

    At the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Choummaly Saya Sone of Lao
People's Democratic Republic, Secretary-2 of the State
Peace and Development Council, Chief of Bureau of
Special Operations and  Chief of Staff ( Army ) Lt-Gen
Tin Oo will  pay a goodwill visit to Lao PDR in the
near future.

(2) No 10 Sugar Mill (Duyingabo) Opens in  Aunglan

    A ceremony  to open No 10 Sugar Mill (Duyingabo) of
Myanma Sugarcane Enterprise was held at Pyinbinhla
Village in Duyingabo  Village Tract in Aunglan
Township, Magway Division. Minister for Agriculture
and Irrigation and President Ms. Zhang Lianju of China
National Complete Plant Import and Export ( Yunnan ) 
Corporation formally opened the sugar mill.

(3) Myanmar Fisheries Federation Holds First Annual Meeting

    The first annual meeting of Myanmar Fisheries
Federation and the opening of the marine products
export promotion exhibition were held at Yuzana Plaza
on 25 December. The exhibition  will be open from 9.00
and to 5.00 pm till 26 December.
 
(4) 1999 Mr and Miss Myanmars Competition Concludes

    The 1999 Mr and Miss Myanmars Competition organized
by Myanmar Body-building  and Physical Culture
Federation  was held at the National Theatre on 25
December.  Vice-President of International Body
Building Federation, General Secretary of Asia  Body
Building  Federation Mr Paul Chua and Secretary of
ABBF Women's Committee Mrs. Cristina Kam Yung
Presented  prizes to 1999 Miss Myanmar and Mr Myanmar.
