Carrot and Stick


1) U Aung Pwint, a famous writer and a political leader from Bassein was 
accused of violating crimanal codes including Penal Code 10-J and was 
sentenced in mid November to 45 years imprisonment with hard labour.

2) U Thaung Yi, a former NLD MP from Danubyu township NO; 2 Constituency in 
Irrawaddy division was rewarded by SPDC with a mobile phone and a permit to 
import cars for his public speech of denunciation against his mother party 
NLD.

These privileges woth more than 15 million Kyat in total. He is now 
undergoing special medical treatment at Japan New Hospital in Rangoon.
