Day 3 Jiang Zemin French visit

First a correction, sorry, i goofed. Laurent Fabius, former french prime
minister under Mitterand, and now President of the National Assembly,
one of the two houses of the FRench Parliament (with the Senate) DID NOT
invite Jifan Zemin to address his collegues. And Jack Lang, president of
the French Assembly's Foreign Affairs commission, DID plan
demonstrations against the private-official visit. Whoof.....sorry.

Chinese dissident leader Wei Jingsheng, WAS received at the French N
ational Assembly, Friday, by Jack Lang, where Jingsheng denounced the
visit of the "butcher with bloody hands" (remember Zemin replace Zhao
Ziyang, who opposed the repression of Tiananmen in June 89) and added
"This is shameful. Chirac is going too far. No one has asked him to take
this kind of attitude towards Jiang Zemin. And Raymond Barre (fomer
French prime minister under Giscard late seventies, replacing Chirac
then), is also going too far" (referring to the welcome by the French
mayor of Lyon, in Lyon, Friday soir).

Meanwhile, in the interests of Jospin's peaceful cohabitation
coexistence, it is reported he has restrained his ministers from
speaking out against Jiang Zemin. (neither Fabius nor Lang are
ministers, part of Jospin's effort to distance himself from the inhouse
Mitterand boys)
