Minority rebels try to survive Thai-Myanmar tension

     In a bid to survive mounting tensions in regions on the border
between Thailand and Myanmar, anti-Myanmar resistance groups are
stepping up efforts to maintain friendly and cooperative ties with
Thai authorities.
     In the province of Meahongson, about 950 kilometers (590 miles) 
northwest of Bangkok, the groups have been busy exchanging 
intelligence information with Thai authorities about possible threats 
from Myanmar, according to Mahasang, chairman of the Wa National 
Organization (WNO).
